Niels Jakobsen Hak (Galen) held title to Ellinge and Sibberup, married toIngeborg Jensdatter (Galen). He might be the same Niels Jakobsenmentioned in 1308 in the 'Norske Klager' (Norwegian Complaints) andtherefore have been bailiff (foged) of Hunehals. In 1314 his seal, withthe Galen coat-of-arms (våben), can be found on an endowment document(forleningsbrev) in which a Count Gert in Nyborg is provided an endowmentin Sønderjylland. Also that same year he can be found witnessing anentailment document (lensbrev) to a Ludvig Albertsen, in this document heis stated to be a knight (ridder). In 1330 he donated land to EsromMonastery for the salvation of his and his brother Jens' souls; thisdocument was sealed by Peder, Truid, and Jep Jensen (Galen). In 1333 heis stated to have been living at Ellinge; also in 1336, at which time heacted as a witness at a probate hearing regarding an Ingeborg ofEljarød.
